A year into her practice, Kelli met a teacher at the gym she was attending that changed her practice. A few months later she arrived at Love Yoga Center. It was there that the yoga she had been practicing transformed from being just a physical exercise into an entire mind, body and life experience. Knowing how greatly this practice affected her life, Kelli had a strong desire in her heart to share this practice with others. Kelli's main intention is to uplift and send you on your way to a better day. Kelli is a graduate of Love Yoga Center's 500 hour advanced teacher training program. Her Love Basics classes are fun and uplifting with some pretty awesome tunes!
Howard
It was 1989 when I first found yoga in Philadelphia with Dr Pratap of The Yoga Research
Society. I was studying psychology at Temple University with the intention of better
understanding how consciousness, the senses, mind, and matter inter-relate. Ironically, it was
not until many years later that I was able to see the clarity, consistency, and simplicity offered
in the ancient texts on yoga science. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali suggests practices to clear
the obstacles, distractions, and attachments that obstruct awareness of divine consciousness
within. The Sutras also provide guidance for establishing habits which cultivate stability, ease,
and balance in the mind.
After getting a bit distracted I reconnected with a regular yoga practice in 2006. About three
years later I completed a teacher certification program and began to teach while continuing to
practice and study. Yoga Sutra chanting and study became a regular part of my practice in
2015. In October of 2018 I completed the 500 hour certification with The Himalayan Institute.
Words always seems small when I try to express the depth of my gratitude that a place as
extraordinary as The Himalayan Institute exists. The institute serves as a modern conduit for
ancient teachings from an unbroken lineage. I plan to continue to receive and share, including a
pilgrimage to India with them in February 2019.
In the role of yoga teacher my intention is to meet students where and how they are, support
their efforts to establish a home practice, and offer practices that contribute to radiant health,
balance, liberation, and freedom.
